Zac Efron says his 'centre' is in a 'High School Musical' reboot

This could be the "start of something new."

Zac Efron revealed he is very open up to the possibility of returning to the Disney franchise "High Schoolhouse Musical" for a reboot — if ane were to be fabricated.

When asked during an interview with East! News if he would exist interested, the 34-year-old said "of course."

"I mean to take an opportunity in any form to go back and piece of work with that squad would exist then astonishing," the "Firestarter" actor said. "My heart is still in that location. That would be incredible. I hope it happens."

The "High School Musical" Television set movie first aired on the Disney Aqueduct in 2006 and was followed past a sequel in 2007. A third picture, "High School Musical 3: Senior Twelvemonth," was released in theaters in 2008.

The franchise's legacy currently lives on in the Disney+ series "High School Musical: The Musical: The Series." The show features a new cast of teenage theater kids who embark on a journeying to phase "High School Musical" equally their school production.

Last twelvemonth, the original film'due south star Monique Coleman — who played Taylor McKessie — told Insider that her graphic symbol always wore headbands, challenge that the makeup and hair coiffure didn't know how to style black hair.

"We've grown a lot in this industry, and we've grown a lot in representation and we've grown a lot in terms of understanding the needs of an African-American extra," Coleman, 41, said.

"But the truth is, is that they had done my hair, and they had done it very poorly in the front," she said.

She remembered that she recommended that the stylists "incorporate headbands into her grapheme" and "just make that a part of who she is." The team at Disney was "very open to [the] feedback," she said.

Coleman noted that despite the coiffure's inexperience, she loved the opportunity to become a role model for young girls of color.

"I'yard really grateful to take been someone who was able to bring representation at a time where there wasn't very much, and I'thousand so happy when I see this next generation of immature artists and there just being then much more room for people of color," she said.
